THE ARTISTIC APPROACH

Visual photographer, academic and researcher in comparative and French speaking literature, Negin Daneshvar-Malevergne takes inspirations from her readings of literary works, essays and press articles to translate her emotions and questions about the place of Man in a world in crisis and plagued by multiple disruptions. Daneshvar-Malevergne´s work rejects the idea of impasse or failure, it aims to be foretelling, combative and constructive. It does not only aim at an ephemeral present, marked by a tireless search to reinvent the balance that we have unscrupulously lost for centuries and that we struggle to regain. The regularity of the lines and shapes, the geometric staging of the elements, and the harmony of the colors, are tools to bring it closer to this moment of Grace where before the final conception of an image, we become aware of a buried truth, of a cathartic beauty which could, for a moment, erase the ignominies.

At the American school of photography, in the 1980´s, the artist was tempted by superimposing of slides, because taking the image directly did not seem to her to convey the complexity of reality. But Daneshvar-Malevergne felt very dependent on laboratories to scrupulously transcribe the details of her compositions. The arrival of digital was a liberation for the artist, linking literature to photography, reflection to emotion. Going forward each image will be part of the continuity of a thought, generated by a reading, to become a condensed metaphorical writing.

His recent work arts focus on the issue of Power and Domination, which engender wars, violence, injustice, and destruction, inevitably disrupting and deconstructing the essence of humanity in our world. The first victims are the weakest, or those perceived as such, deprived of rights or any other means to defend themselves and survive rather than truly LIVE.

The viewer may first be attracted by an aesthetic that speaks to the emotions. Then, if he is captured by the shapes, the symbolic choice of colors or the title given to the artwork; he could take a few steps into the world of the image, pick up a few thoughts, tell himself a story or become aware of a truth. The idea is to arouse an emotion that opens a path to the heart and then to the mind.
